A Love Song for Bobby Long

To start the day off right, I compiled a healthy, delicious breakfast that consisted of scrambled eggs with spinach and asparagus, a sliced grapefruit, and a toasted homemade roll with pineapple jelly.

[Insert a long day of meetings at work] and all of a sudden, I'm back at home looking for more food.

In the process of brainstorming what to make for dinner, I came across these portabellini mushrooms that had somehow hidden in the depths of my vegetable drawer for the past week.

I sauteed them in a skillet with garlic and onion.  I also sauteed some asparagus on the side.

Paired with the appropriate burger-fixin's, this was a perfect dinner!

Yesterday, we'd planned to go play tennis after work all day.  However, when we arrived at the tennis courts, they were already occupied.  So, we took a short walk and enjoyed a little bit of fresh air before returning back home to watch a movie.

We watched A Love Song for Bobby Long.  This is an old movie that was released in 2004 starring Scarlett Johansson and John Travolta.  The movie was mildly confusing up until the very end.  It was very interesting and I would recommend it if you're in the mood for something different.

Do you prefer to watch old movies or new releases?
I like watching old movies because they have a unique feel to them.  It's fun to see how much the actors and actresses have changed over the years.  Of course, I also enjoy new releases if I've seen the trailer or been anticipating their release.

A quote from the movie:
"We cannot tear out a single page of our lives, but we can throw the whole book in the fire."
-George Sand

  2. Pineapple jelly...sounds great! My husband and I love guava jelly because it tastes so tropical. I bet we would like this...where did you find it? What brand is it?

As for movies...we are TERRIBLE about going to the movies so most movies we rent our new releases to us but old movies to everyone else! haha!

  3. I love old movies. the breakfast club, when harry met sally, pretty woman, I cant get enough. Now I think they're running out of ideas for movies so they're re-doing a lot of stuff.

  6. Pineapple jelly?! That sounds.. good? I tried mango jam and really liked it so I'm thinking that pineapple would be pretty fabulous.

I love watching movies and since my mom owns a video store, I have access to quite a bit. The thing is.. I don't usually get around to watching many. Old and new ones are both good, it just all depends on what kind of mood I'm in.

  9. Looks great!!

I will watch anything. Old, new, weird, foreign... I believe in my other life I was a famous actress, much like ScarJo. She's great in Iron Man 2.
